The Primer Desert Island

Total Found: 1 record

Name Tommy Sekelsky
Location PA USA
Artist1 Cookie And The Cupcakes
Album1 Kings Of Swamp Pop
Comments1 ACE CD. Louisiana R&B; at its finest. 30 cuts and I love 'em all. The music makes me feel so good.
Artist2 Solomon Burke
Album2 Cry To Me
Comments2 CHARLY LP. To me, Solomon is soul personified.
Artist3 The Upsetters
Album3 The New Orleans Connection.
Comments3 CHARLY LP. I initially bought this album because the album was very inexpensive and had the words 'New Orleans' in the title. I had never heard any of the songs before. My best musical bargain ever. This album deserves to be reissued on CD (with additional cuts of course). In fact, I'm going to suggest this to ACE. I have no idea why Louisiana music appeals to me (I'm also a fan of cajun and zydeco); I have never been to Louisiana and have no relatives from there.
Artist4 James Carr
Album4 You Got My Mind Messed Up.
Comments4 GOLDWAX LP. If Solomon is soul personified, then James Carr is deep soul personified. 'I Don't Want To Be Hurt Anymore' literally makes my skin tingle every time I listen to it.
Artist5 The Sheppards
Album5 Golden Classics
Comments5 COLLECTABLES CD. A vastly underrated group. The fact that the group never had a record make the pop charts gives truth to the adage 'life isn't fair'. The CD is a must-hear for all R&B; fans.
